May I Ask Which Diamond Is The Best For My Propose?

Recommended Posts

Thank you to take a time to come into this thread

Recently, I am struggling to choose a diamond for my coming propose. I am looking for a D colour with VVS1 clarity. Could anyone suggest the best among the diamond below or advice if the diamond below is not a good choice. Thanks

option 1: GIA 2141322228; 6.92mm; table 58; depth 60.5; crown 32.5; price 15682

Option 2: GIA 5196147886; 6.91mm; table 59; depth 60.1; crown 31.5; price 15756

Option 3: GIA 3195049157; 6.84mm; table 56; depth 62.5; crown 36.6; price 17325

Option 4: GIA 3175925491; 6.88mm; table 56; depth 62.3; crown 35.5; price 17325

Option 5: GIA 5161246782; 6.93mm; table 58; depth 62.5; crown 34.5; price 19773

I am struggling because I do not have a chance to see the real stone and I am completely no idea with the figure above. thanks for your advice.

What are your criteria for determining "best"?

Since I have started with questions,

What are your reasons for deciding on D and VVS1?

And how did you get down to these 5, since there are more than 140 "similar" 1.20-1.30 D/VVS1 Ideal-Excellent cut, no/faint fluorescence stones listed on this site alone? http://www.diamondreview.com/diamonds/?sortOrder=price&sortDesc=1&fShape=Rnd&fCaratLo=1.20&fCaratHi=1.30&fColorLo=D&fColorHi=D&fClarityLo=VVS1&fClarityHi=VVS1&fCutLo=&fCutHi=poor&fDepthLo=0.0&fDepthHi=100.0&fTableLo=0.0&fTableHi=100.0&fSymLo=&fSymHi=poor&fPolLo=&fPolHi=poor&fCulLo=&fCulHi=vlarge&fFlrLo=none&fFlrHi=faint&fPriceLo=0&fPriceHi=1000000000&fLabGIA=1&fLabAGS=1&adv=1

(The reason I'm asking these questions, BTW, is because my honest answer to your question is "none of the above". Why? Because I would not start from D/VVS1, and because I think that even if sticking to D/VVS1 you could find something that is better cut than any of those - but it may mean spending a little more money than $19773.)

BTW - to save time for anyone else who want to look at the details, here are the links to the GIA reports:

Thank you for your reply. i am just a layman. i have read the instructions and gave all the information i know.

The best is just defined the best among those 5 diamonds. the reason that i pick those 5 diamonds on list because they are available 1.2-1.28ct in Hong Kong. I have read some of the website to discuss about the different crown angle, table size, depth, pavilion angle will give different spakling even they are all classified as 3EX under GIA. I have done a rating of those 5 diamonds in pricescope.com

For me, I want to pick the forth option with the consideration of price, carat (1.25 have some special meaning for me), only one pinpoint is found inside the diamond. Hmmmm, the reason that I start from D/VVS1 is to choose nearly the top grading for engagement ring and because I earn some lucky money in a lottery game (even it is not enough to cove the ring :) )
