Forum Software Upgrade (Again)

Recommended Posts

The forum software has been upgraded again. This should fix some minor quirky bugs with the editing that a few folks been reported since the last upgrade (about 1 month ago).

As usual, please let me know of any problems, feedback, suggestions, etc.

Thanks!

Hi Hermann,

It seems to have re-introduced some old bugs - sometimes carriage returns appear as <br> and editing a post using the in-place editor results in a non-update of the screen (the edited post is saved, but not displayed until the screen is refreshed).

Also - did you see my note/request on extending searchable strings to 3 characters (so we can search for GIA and/or EGL)?

Thanks Davide, I have reported the bug to the software vendor.

I didn't see your note regarding searching 3-char strings (where did you send it?), but I just enabled it. :)

Thanks Hermann; I posted it just a couple of days ago on the Feeback & Tech Support thread, so it hadn't been waiting for long in any case!

Yes, already working on it. A big bug thanks to our forum software vendor. Will be fixed ASAP.

I've implemented a temporary fix for this issue, which should work for all existing & future posts.  The software vendor (now) knows about the issue, and the fix will be included in their next version of the software.  Apologies for the temporary glitch.
