My stone weighs .82ct electronically but gauges out .72ct....What is the reason for this? 2 key pieces of information: Its not a shallow or a deep cut.....i would consider it ideal or fine by GIA or AGS standards... Second key piece of info: the girdle is thick to very thick....

Is the weight off because some of the carat/fat is sitting in the wrong place....ie (the girdle)?

Is there a special verb for this type of stone in the industry?

other then small for its weight?
