The black spot at about 5 o'clock is possibly eye clean. The feather at 6 o'clock may be more visible from certain angles. In either case it's hard to say without having the stone. Why not ask JA what they think?

Cut-wise, it's what diamond geeks would call a "steep-deep" - this is visible in the photo as a darkish ring just under the table. This optical effect may well disappear if the viewing angle is not directly above the stone, but you need to look at it and decide whether it's a look you like.

It's a nicely cut stone, but you probably can do better.

(FWIW - here is a diamond that does not have that effect, but is slightly more expensive http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4693/)

David, thanks a bunch. I'll study the images again based on your comments and check out the item on goodoldgold. I'm learning as I go.. PS. I think the link is broken. Is #4963 the item number. If it is, I can go to their site and time it in the search column.

Edit...I found it. Big thanks. This looks really promising.
