Clarity's Effect On Durability

I am going to be getting engaged soon. I was originally going to buy online but after viewing diamonds in person that looked so different even with similar specs, I decided that picking a diamond sight-unseen wasn't the best choice for me. I did a little research on diamonds and mostly picked the one I did because I liked the way it looked. It was$2311 and the GIA report says: .54 ct, color D, clarity SI1, cut grade very good. After looking at several stones I discovered that color made more of a difference than clarity to my eyes, but here is where the problem lies. The clarity characteristics say both crystal and feather. I just found out that feathers were cracks. Yikes! Should I be worried about my diamond being less durable? My setting is off somewhere being engraved, so the diamond hasn't been set yet. Should I try to exchange for a different stone? How likely is it that my diamond would break?
