I have three round diamonds here that I am looking at and all are GIA Certified. I want to know is it worth it to spend an extra $400 for a E color. Or should I spend an extra $200 for a better cut. Here are the specs for the diamonds and my question is which going to be the best buy? Make sure you note the cuts and color and price.

Diamond 1

Carat: .72 CT

Color: E

Clarity: VS2

Cut Grade: Very Good

Clarity Characteristics: Feather Finish

Diamond 2

Diamond 3

I don't have anything like enough information and I don't give either grading or value opinions on stones that I haven't seen so that doesn't leave much I can tell you in the way of a preference.

As a general rule, GIA-Excellent is a proportion set that's more popular than GIA-Very Good and they do generally sell for a slight premium for this reason. I say go with the prettiest.

Is your goal to get the rolls royce triple ex from GIA? A couple bucks for the highest grading overall is worthy in my book.

For example:

.72ct E VS1 (not VS2), Triple Ex, 5.82x5.86x3.53 60.5/59 for $3100.

or

.72ct F VS2 triple ex, 61.3/54 5.76x5.80x3.54 for $2650

Or save yourself a couple bucks and get "vg's". Then we can analyze the crown and pavilion and see how the Cut models out there rate the diamonds I've suggested, but I'm sure they are killer!
