off the wall question...

Recommended Posts

Guest Guest

okay, I have purchased 5 diamonds to put in an engagement ring.

The center stone is a 1.08 carat E, VVS2. This is surrounded by two

0.53 carat/each F,VVS2, then surrounded by two 0.30 carat/each F, VVS2

It ends up being quite a bit of diamond on the platinum ring.

The real question is, do you think my girlfriend will be surprised? I don't

think it will be too much, but I hope it is enough to make excited.

Are you kidding? This sounds like a gorgeous ring!

In all seriousness, if 5 diamonds set in the way you describe look right on her hand, then this is the way to go. That won't necessarily be true for all hands -- they do come in different shapes and sizes, and a tiny hand with 5 huge diamonds may not look right.

There's a great new addition in the tutorial section under "rings" that describe what type of ring + diamond look right on which type of hands. It was written by Miriam, DiamondReview's fashion editor, whose newsletters will be sent biweekly starting mid-January to those who subscribe to it.

Good luck on your engagement! Let us know if she likes it :-)
