Question On Diamond Color

Recommended Posts

To most people, a single color grade difference is not noticeable. This is a touchy problem and it’s rather like defining which raindrop is the one that makes a storm. Each step in color grading is quite small and each has a significant affect on the price so there is a real tendency to slide. In the end, you simply have to draw a line or you are going to be buying a Q color because it’s not noticeably different from a P, which looks a lot like an O, etc. For most Americans the line ends up somewhere between G-J.

Dividing color into graduations that are less than a single color grade, meaning worrying about the rounding of a ‘low H’ vs. a ‘high I’ is, in my opinion, attending to a detail that isn’t beneficial for shoppers.
