Unique Setting - is it possible?

My girlfriend wants a princess cut diamond set in such a way that it is rotated and looks like a baseball diamond when viewed from above. Therefore, it is essential that the rock has a l/w ratio of 1.00 (or as close as possible). I received a tip that this is not the safest design for a ring because it leaves the corners of the rock vulnerable. Makes perfect sense to me. So now I'm thinking - is is possible to get a setting custom made in such a way that the design can be deemed safe? Has anyone done this before??

Finally, any opinions on this diamond is greatly appreciated; it's one that I was considering buying from JamesAllen for the setting described above. I'm trying to balance quality and carat weight for the price, and this looked promising:

Price: $3200

Shape: Princess

Carat weight: 0.81

Color: F

Clarity: VS1

Certificate: GIA

Depth: 73.5%

Table: 70%

Polish: Very Good

Symmetry: Very Good

Girdle: Thick to very thick

Culet: None

Fluorescence: None

Measurements: 4.94*4.94*3.63

Ratio: 1.00

Is the price right for the given specs? Thanks in advance for any feedback you can provide!

hi. i've seen tension settings that turn a square cut diamond into a 'diamond' shape..i thought they were really unique and amazingly beautiful -- however I have also read that tension settings, while beautiful, aren't especially safe and the diamond could be lost. Don't quote me on that - because I'm no expert, but I do remember reading it - in fact, it's the reason I opted not to go with a tension setting.

Good luck!
