Can you give me opinions on the following diamonds?

Hello Cb36,

Welcome to Diamond Review.  Before getting started, I would like to point out that stone #2 is an F color, not an E as you mentioned above.

With regards to proportions, the G stone has a slightly shallower crown angle than I usually like to see but I have a preference for a high top small table stones.  This stone is a little flat.  The twinning whisps may or may not be visible to the naked eye.  Unfortunately the GIA map only shows you where they are in two dimensions, not their color or intensity.

The F color stone has a slightly deeper than desirable pavilion angle and may result in a darker center.  Once again, the SI1 imperfection is placed where it might be visible to the naked eye.

In both of these cases, you really need to see what the stones actually look like.  If you are unable to see them in person, maybe your vendor could send you a video of both stones side by side.  Zooming in might give you a good idea of how eye clean these stones might or might no be.

Mmm... I don't mean to spoil your party, but I don't think you are going to see a huge improvement in size - and just looking at the reports my bet would be that your current stone looks sparklier and brighter than either of the alternatives.

The two circles here are 6.9 mm and 7.3 mm (slightly larger than the 1.40 ct):

Before you commit, I would strongly recommend that you:

1. Make sure you can return whatever you buy with no penalty
2. Go out and look at a few 1.30 and 1.40 stones, ideally with your current ring next to them (do tell the jeweller that you are planning to do the comparison beforehand, though!)
3. If possible, arrange some form of "preview" with the vendor of the upgrade

Thank you very much for your input. All very valuable to me at the moment!
