Diamonds in a fire

It shouldn't. What diamond testers check is thermal conductivity (and electrical conductivity in some cases), and there is no theoretical reason why these should be changed by exposure to a fire. This said, most testers are relatively unreliable at the best of times, and all require some expertise to be used correctly.
