Opinion On Band To Go With Engagement Ring

I tried it on with a co-worker's band. See edited first post. What do you think about that look? I could keep the colorless diamonds but change out the band to yellow gold. Thoughts?

Opinion On Band To Go With Engagement Ring

what if I can find a band w light brown diamonds? Would that just make it more obvious how light my stone is?

Opinion On Band To Go With Engagement Ring

You really think in such a small width (1.5 mm or so) that the color will wash out my diamond?

Opinion On Band To Go With Engagement Ring

Would you go with a white gold band or a yellow gold band? I'm sort of leaning toward yellow or even rose possibly - so I'd have the contrast and to bring out more brown in the diamond.

Opinion On Band To Go With Engagement Ring

2 bands as in one on either side of the engagement ring? I could possibly do 2 bands if I kept them at 1 mm. I really don't want the entire set to take up a large space on my finger. I hadn't planned on doing a countoured band because I want to be able to wear it alone. I did find one that's very light pink and only 1.5 mm, but the shank is rose gold. I don't know if the rose gold is going to be too many different gold colors? Should I just go with a plain white gold band instead?

Opinion On Band To Go With Engagement Ring

I got my engagement ring! It's a light brown diamond and the setting is very simple, yellow gold around the stone and white gold shank. I know I want between 1 and 2 mm width for the band, but I want diamonds on it too and that's what I want opinions about. What color should I get? I think colorless will wash my big diamond out. I'm not sure if I want to go with brown (I also haven't seen any brown diamond bands anywhere.) In your opinion what would compliment the color of my diamond? Pink, yellow, a darker brown, or I even found one band that has 9 different diamonds, each a different color. I haven't found any color diamond bands locally to try on so that's likely why I can't decide. I've tried on bands for width.

    What Does Modified Mean?

Y'all were right - it's a cross between an oval and an emerald cut.

    What Does Modified Mean?

I assumed Gia. I'll find out. I know it's emerald cut.

    What Does Modified Mean?

My friend is asking me and I have no idea. I can't see the paperwork. She bought a fancy yellow diamond. She says the paperwork says "modified" but not "modified brilliant" - when I googled the word "modified" I read about what it would mean if it said "modified brilliant" but she says it's only modified, not modified brilliant.

A Few Questions Regarding Flourescence And Other Things

Thanks y'all. After we slept on it we had decided to keep the one I like and not bring it to any more local Jewelers. I love it so who cares what they have to say? I swear it feels like we were dealing with used car salesmen. We were joking on the way home "maybe he can offer gold in all colors of the rainbow and I can have 7 halos" 😂

A Few Questions Regarding Flourescence And Other Things

I'm going to email him. One thing I think both my BF and I agree on now is that whoever we buy the diamond from we'd like to do the setting b/c they aren't going to try to sell us a big blingy ring when I want something simple. Those jewelers last night wouldn't listen to me! I kept saying I want something simple. Then he recommends a double halo.

A Few Questions Regarding Flourescence And Other Things

<sigh>. Ok. The one with the questionable fluorescence was from Lebish. The one that he said showed fluorescence even though it was supposed to be faint was from David. I would have felt more comfortable if I could have seen some non-fluorescent diamonds under the light to see the difference between what I had and what he claimed was non-fluorescent. I'll post some pics of the diamonds if it will let me. I didn't get a Gia report from David, only from Lebish. Should I send it back for one? The jeweler claimed I should. He just in general made me feel bad about the diamonds, like they weren't very good. No one wants to sell you a simple setting when you didn't purchase the diamond from them. It seems like they are a bunch of used car salesmen and there's no one I can trust.
  13. I had a horrible experience yesterday going to 2 local jewelers with 2 diamonds looking for settings and opinion about which diamond was better. I'll attempt to post pics of both of them. The one thing that stuck out to me is that one jeweler showed me both diamonds under the black light. One diamond had a strong blue fluorescence (as was shown in the report) but he said since it was more in the middle and not distributed evenly that is a sign of a heat treated diamond. Is that true? Also, the second diamond which I thought had faint fluorescence still showed up as being fluorescent but it was more evenly spread so he said it was less likely color treated but recommended that we get GIA paperwork on it before we buy it. I have more but no time to type right now. So is that true about heat treating and fluorescence?
  14. When I search online the color diamonds are certified by Gia and are fancy, fancy light, etc. But both times I've gone to local Jewelers they refer to a "C scale". One jeweler called me last week and said she'd found a beautiful C7. I asked if it was darker than the stone I had brought in and she said yes the one I brought in probably wasn't even on the C scale. It was a fancy dark yellow brown. I told her no thank you I don't want to go any darker than what I had brought and she told me the lighter C's aren't as desirable. Well, I don't care I like that color for an engagement ring. What's the difference and why don't online and local Jewelers use the same scale?

Advice On Price - First Time To Purchase Fancy Colored Diamond

LOL - I wish I had the means to buy diamonds just for the fun of it. I'm going to try that light brown one in 2.28 carats that we'd looked at last week.
