  2. Pretty stone, the table % a little small for my RBC liking but, nice! For my stones: Detergent (liquid dish soap) clear ammonia, water, baby toothbrush. Work vigorously over a bath towel, high pressure steam, toothbrush again...Repeat until desired cleaning! P.S. I use medical grade gloves constantly at work. In case I have to use a special piece of equipment: my computer, loupe, etc....Gotta keep my hands clean! When cleaning stones...I advise wearing gloves.

    Did I Get Scammed?

There is nothing wrong with an EGL, GCAL, IGI, HRD....or whatever. I buy them all day long. The important fact is your buying the stone not the paper, think apple to apple NOT apple to orange. This is where research would have helped.... Good luck with the fight

    Did I Get Scammed?

Interesting topic. No, simply you have no recourse when it comes to EGL (and how they grade or over grade) they are allowed to over grade diamonds. Who’s to judge their standards? Certainly not the legal system! In regards to the seller, aaaah! Good luck with that. You don’t have much ground… (The vendor) sold an EGL stone you bought an EGL stone; enough said… FYI: Sometimes EGL is 2 grades off sometimes 5 grades. Simply unreliable and not worth the paper it’s printed on. Within 5 minutes of researching (via the internet) you would find that EGL is not reliable…for color or clarity. Weight, Proportions, and Treatment are OK...But that's about it. GIA, AGS, AGL, GUEBLIN, SSEF, These labs have one thing that EGL does not. Reports that represent the highest standard of reliability, consistency and integrity. Period.

Is $11800 A Good Price On This Diamond?

D is not necessary. Either is VVS1 or VVS2. You will get a bigger stone, and a better price: if you lower the color, and clarity parameters. A finely cut G-H will look white in almost all lighting conditions, additionally most VS2 will be eye clean (even for a keen professional). Furthermore look for: GIA triple X or Triple VG cut goods…. P.S. The info above is based on GIA or AGS grading standards. All the best!

    12 Carat Red Diamond

Simply because your last post leads me to believe that you’re (looking to converse about this red material) or you may think the stone the OP has is actually a diamond. So my response was meant to illustrate the rarity of red diamonds. That’s all.

    12 Carat Red Diamond

Dear Furqan, Natural Red diamonds are typically Fancy Red, or Fancy purplish red, and 99.5% under 1 carat in size. For example a GIA .90CT Fancy Red, SI2, Princess is currently listed on RAP for $1,170,000 USD - That equates to 1.3M a carat. Out of 66 stones listed on RAP 15% are listed in error (Not Red whatsoever). I don't know how many natural "red diamonds" there are known to exist in the world, but I can say with a high degree of certainty its not in the thousands. They are incredibly rare!

    12 Carat Red Diamond

Hi LG! Compare the thermal conductivity of diamond and CZ by pressing them against an ice cube. The diamond will conduct the heat from your hand better and melt farther into the ice than the cubic zirconia. Cubic zirconia is an insulator (k = ~0.05 W/m-K), whereas diamond has one of the largest thermal conductivity of any material (500-2500 W/m-K).

    12 Carat Red Diamond

The Moussaieff Red Diamond (formerly known as the Red Shield Diamond) is a diamond measuring 5.11 carats (1.022 g) with a triangular brilliant cut (sometimes called a trillion or a trilliant cut), rated in color as Fancy Red by the Gemological Institute of America. It is the world's largest known red diamond. Highly unlikely you have a red diamond. Unless HPHT synthetic, Irradiated or annealed. (still having a lot of value) Especially the ladder. Try the ice cube test....

I've Purchased A Diamond With Brillianteering

Painting or its opposite digging out is used by cutters to typically improve weight retention. The fact that your stone is exactly 1.50CT and has face-up issues (video based) tells me that your stone was “cheated†to preserve weight during the final cutting process – Brillanteering. The GIA comment cut grade affected by brillanteering most likely affects the face up appearance of your stone, particularly its contrast pattern. I would look into buying: GIA Triple X or AGS 000. DiamondFinder shows 25+ stones with lower prices…. http://www.diamondreview.com/diamonds/?sortOrder=price&sortDesc=0&fShape=Rnd&fCaratLo=1.50&fCaratHi=1.51&fColorLo=J&fColorHi=J&fClarityLo=VS2&fClarityHi=VS2&fCutLo=exc&fCutHi=exc&fDepthLo=50.0&fDepthHi=80.0&fTableLo=40.0&fTableHi=80.0&fSymLo=&fSymHi=poor&fPolLo=&fPolHi=poor&fCulLo=&fCulHi=vlarge&fFlrLo=&fFlrHi=vstrong&fPriceLo=0&fPriceHi=1000000&fLabGIA=1&fLabAGS=1
