There is a ring at Costco that I really like and would like to buy for my wife. The price can’t be matched by my jeweler at as high as grade as the ring at Costco. Should I stay away from Costco? Here’s the rings https://www.costco.com/Cushion-Cut-2.38-ctw-VS1-Clarity%2c-F-Color-Diamond-Platinum-Halo-Wedding-Set.product.100456211.html thoughts?

You 2 are funny! Lol! Well I pulled the trigger. I went with quality and service over size. I bought the HOF ring. I also bought the wedding band. 10775 out the door. Thanks for all of your help!

BLESS you sir!! Now that's what I needed a good ole smack in the face!! I agree with you 100 percent! I want quality! So do I do what you said (bigger diamond) or do I get the HOF? And no I do not get an inheritance but I do make a very good living.

also this was my last question that confused you. Should I do the above for the 1st ring with the ability to exchange 1-2 years from now and get full price back or should I go with the HOF set up that is obviously a better cut but less carat weight at 1.10 and is (with the wedding band) another 1k-1500... Also all places offer excellent service and full life time warranty on all the diamonds as well as full replacements for any lost stones.

1st of thank you to all! Your advice is making me much more educated on diamonds and making the whole experience a lot easier! @ denverappraiser- sorry about that I didn't want to start a whole new thread. But to be more specific I've been to 2 very highly regarded jewelry places in michigan. 1. Lucidos 2. Jared And the stones they offered were not name brand (HOF/Tiffany's ect) but this was what they had. Princess cut (just the center stone diamond) Clarity- I1 Color- I Carat size- 1.47 Price- 6200 Setting: .75-1 carat with halo Total for both: 8-9k What do you think?

thanks for the fast responses! also do you think i should start with sacrificying diamond clarity (SI1/VS2) (because you can not see that to the naked eye) but get a good color (G,H,I) at 1st? my ideal ring would be.... 1.50 carats in the center piece .75 carats in the setting (halo setting) do you think that is possible for 8500-9500 total out the door??

    Hearts Of Fire Ring

hi all. i am new to the site and have started shopping for rings for my gf. today i looking at a Hearts Of fire ring. it was a total weight of 1.10 carats with center piece as well as in the band. they priced me out at 8500 dollars. my 3 questions are.... 1. is this worth buying? 2. also if im gonna spend 8500-9500 should i go to tiffanys? 3.lastly.... or should i piece together a ring by buying the diamond separate and the band separate?
