What determines the order in which jewelers are listed?
In an effort to quickly deliver the most relevant
information to consumers, jewelers appearing on
Diamond ReviewTM appear in the
following order:
- Paid listings will have a faint yellow background
and always appear first. By participating in this
program, jewelers indicate that their visibility
on Diamond ReviewTM is important to them. The monthly rates for this
service are very affordable -- contact us for more
information at ads@diamondreview.com if
you are interested in learning more.
- The next grouping of listings is reserved for
jewelers who have taken the time to update and
enhance their StoreFront. It is very easy to do this;
please read editing your StoreFront for
detailed instructions.
- The third group of listings is for jewelers who
have had at least one consumer write a review about
them.
- Finally, the remaining group of listings are
listed based on the amount of information available
in our database.
Within these groups, listings are shown in order of
increasing physical distance to the reader's ZIP code,
or in the case of Internet jewelers, alphabetically.
Please note that we reserve the right to change this
policy and/or the listed order of any jeweler at any
time without notice. We also reserve the right to modify
or delete any listing.
How do I access a specific jeweler's StoreFront?
The easiest way to access a particular jeweler's StoreFront is to
click on the Jeweler Search tab on the top navigation bar. Next,
perform an "Internet" or "Local Jeweler" search by typing the partial name of the jeweler that
you wish to access (for example, for "John Smith Jewelers" you may
simply type "smith").
After pressing the search button, you should see listings
that match your search. When you see your listing,
click on the
button -- this
will take you to your StoreFront.
I am a jeweler and I would like to
edit/update my StoreFront. How do I do that?
If you have not done so, the first step is to sign in / register.
Assuming you are a registered user with a UserID,
check to see if you have been given access to EDIT
your page. To do this, simply visit your StoreFront
(visible after you press the
button). If
you see a "StoreFront Control Panel" at the top of your StoreFront,
you're all set (if you don't know how to access your
profile page, click here). Simply click
on the "Edit StoreFront" button and begin customizing your
StoreFront.
If you do not see the StoreFront Control Panel, you need
to request access from us. To do this, simply fax us a copy of your
business card or letterhead with your UserID and E-mail
address clearly handwritten on it. Our FAX number
is (801) 912-1447. Your account will be
enabled within 24 hours upon receipt of your FAX. This level
of security protects your StoreFront from being modified
by anyone but you.
Once you reach the StoreFront editing screen, you should
complete the information requested as thoroughly as
possible, since this information will be accessed by
potential customers. Once updated, you should return
often to make any necessary updates or simply to "freshen
up" your profile page.
In addition to the textual information on the profile
page, you also have the option to upload computer GIF images
of your store's logos, which will further enhance
the appearance of your listing. If you do not have
a logo, our graphics design team can create a logo
from your letterhead or business card for a small fee.
Send us an email at ads@diamondreview.com
for more information. Alternately, we refer many of our
customers to BannerWorkz.com.
Are there any guidelines
for writing jeweler reviews?
The key to writing a good review is to remain as
objective and specific as possible. Phrases such as
"nice guy" mean very little; rather, use specific
examples such as "called me when the stone I was
looking for became available" or "spent two hours
explaining and educating".
Please refrain from writing a review unless you,
personally, were present. This helps keep our reviews
objective and accurate.
If your visit occurred some time ago, we still
encourage you to write a review as long as your visit
occurred up to two years ago. Just be sure to mention
that fact in your review.
I am a jeweler or a
person affiliated with the jewelry industry. What
guidelines apply to me regarding reviews?
No jeweler, person affiliated with the jewelry
industry, or agent of such person or corporation may
post a review unless such review is intended for the
jewelry store you own or represent, in which case
you are obligated to identify yourself fully.
Any violation of this policy will result in
your listing being permanently deleted, your userid
revoked, and a message issued to the public detailing
your attempt to misinform. Please note that we keep
detailed logs of all user activities. Even if you choose to
violate our Terms of Service and
falsely identify yourself, do not assume that you
will succeed in remaining anonymous.
Jewelers are encouraged to write reviews about
themselves as long as they fully identify themselves
as the authors of such reviews. For example, if you
are a jeweler that happens to receive a less than
agreeable review, you are encouraged to post a review
as a reply, explaining what you think might have
gone wrong. Or, if you have received favorable
reviews elsewhere, you are encouraged to cross-post
them here.
Jewelers are also encouraged to ask their customers to
post reviews here. And, once you grow a nice database of
positive reviews, you may also link directly to your
DiamondReview.com StoreFront from your site so your visitors
can read your reviews. For instructions on linking directly
to your StoreFront from your website, please visit
your StoreFront editor.
Can I make changes
or deletions to reviews that have already been
posted?
We maintain no editorial control over reviews. Do
not ask us to edit or delete any reviews. If there is
an inaccuracy, the easiest way to fix it is to post
a new review explaining the error or problem in an
older review. Since the last review posted always appears
first, you can be assured that readers will always
read any corrections first.
