I am looking at 2-3 carat round diamond (thinking about VS1/E) for our 30 year wedding anniversary and have shopped around the world. (I'm an airline pilot.) I've looked in Europe, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, and a few other locations. All provide "best price" and garantees. Most say that the prices are fairly standard throughtout the industry. What makes diamonddirect etc a better way to purchase (other than just a lower overhead)? I would appreciate any comments from folks who have had experience with "store fronts" vs "dot com".

Hi,
First of all the prices on the net are much cheaper than brick and mortar in most cases!!
all the other advntages are :
1) return policy.
2)no tax if out of your state.
3)bigger selection.
4)you can shop in the comfort of your home.
5)free incentives!
bottom line "shop and compare" to get the best value for you buck.
