Do dimaonds with GIA certs typically cost more, why?, I found a GIA 1 carotvs1,g 62.6, depth, 59 table 1000$ more than a EGL that was 1 carot 58.6 depth 61 table. Why such the price difference. Does GIA cost more for certification? I have compared similar diamonds on different internet sites and he is under or right at the same cost. He is a GIA and EGL certified dealer.

Try www.diamond-solitaires.co.uk They will be offering a service for the USA in a couple of weeks the prices will be less 17.5% for export then.J

Yes , g.i.a certs cost more,the e.g.l certs tend to be a bit more flexiable as they give you the benefit of the doubt,if the color is border line they will give the better color and g.i.a will not.
Most internet sites are working on a very low margin of profit which amounts to you saving money.
