Hi all

I desperately need your advice. I have a 2.10 Solataire engagement ring which is appraised as 1-2 1-3. I advertised it on ebay with what I thought the appraisal meant: V VS1-V VS2 VVS1-VS1 or is 1-2 1-3 a low quality. It's a beautiful ring and I bought a year ago from ebay.

I have just sold it on ebay for $2,500 and the woman who has purchased it says that her jeweller has looked at it and says it's looks as if its been lasered and cannot reduce the ring size as the stone may shatter? I'm very upset about this and just need someone who knows about diamonds to help me on the grading. Also is it easy to laser or is she telling fibs possibly to get her money back?

Regards
Linda

I would suggest you take it to an independent appraiser. If the stone had a GIA lab report you wouldn't have had to worry if the grade was accurate. After you get it appraised, you might want to opt for getting a GIA lab report before you try to sell it again.

You can reach GIA at:
