I was tempted to buy a diamond pendant for my gf from a mall jeweler, but would like to get it appraised first to make sure it is as advertised. Many people suggested getting an independent appraiser who does not sell diamond to do the task. I wonder if it is good enough to just go to another store and get the diamond appraised. I searched the google but unfortunately it came out no single independent appraiser in Chicago area.
Your advice is much appreciated.
