I have a ring from a failed engagement. Has anyone every tried to trade a ring in towards a new different ring. Any advise?

Your market is not the Jeweler , he can purchase this
diamond anytime for cost. So to make it worth his time
he will offer you half of cost, or make you think he is
giving you a deal with a highly marked up piece of jewelry.
Your best bet is the newspaper, ebay, or a friend.
