Grace,

Thanks for sharing your experience, but something about your testimonial strikes me as shilling, so I am erring on the side of caution and removed the link, as it is in violation of our advertising policies. If you care to share any details about your ring--such as what the center stone is (Certified? size, Color, Clarity, etc) and what you paid for it (if you're comfortable sharing, since, as you said, you got such a good deal) that might carry a little weight, as it would had you been a participating member of the forum before just coming by for a show-and-tell :)

Cheers and hope to hear back from you.

Laurie,

I'm sorry to read u feel that way about my post, my attention was only to help people that looking for a reliable place to buy their jewlery from, like I wrote on the topic of my post , but also I understand why you feel like it's somewhat "shilling".
I cant tell you how many stores I went to and how many rings I looked at until I found this deal. I paid $16,500 when everybody else was talking about not less then $30,000 we're talking about a 4ct H-SI2 AGI certificate and authenticity certificate ring. I believe that type of deals are blessed and should be published so that other people that are probably looking like I did, could enjoy it, please correct me if I'm wrong.Posted Image

Grace - I'm glad that you are found a diamond you love at a price that was right for you.

The problem with diamonds is that small details can make a lot of difference in pricing - and the fact that your diamond is not graded by a reliable lab makes me believe it is not graded accurately.

Similarly, the fact that the seller seems to sell only clarity enhanced (fracture filled) diamonds, makes me think yours has been similarly treated.

Does it matter? Not if you love it, but neither does it make the bargain you think you may have.

Hey everybody,

While the pearl ring is unique, I'd have to vote diamond all the way. Pearl is so soft compared to diamond, can easily come out of its setting, and will have to be replaced over and over. While the upfront cost of the pearl ring may be cheaper, over the long haul, it may cost you more.
Getting a new diamond in mine would break my heart because the stone means so much to me. Even if we came into money, I would never upgrade. This is the stone my fiancé picked because when we were ring shopping he said it made my eyes sparkle and fill with joy. This is the stone my fiancé gave me on bended knee in a private dining room by a fireplace. The stone and the sentiments are irreplaceable and non-upgradeable. I hope that you have the same love for your ring and proposal. I question if you can have that with a pearl that gets switched out every 5-10 years.

Thanks,
Julia Martini

Julia - I may have missed something, but what do pearls have to do with this thread?

Gotta say, this is verifying the little tingle of my "Spidey sense" when you first posted. If I see another like this, moderation it shall be!

I have to agree, there are very well a lot of things to consider first before making the purchase and as much as buying a ring online can ever be a tough challenge in a number of ways, it will be made easy if there are a few personal experiences right here. And I admire that you are able to get one over it but I am not sure with the authenticity and its quality either.
