I am getting married in Nov 2012. I have found the perfect enagagement ring on Royalmoon.com. Their prices are the lowest that could find and they have a great layaway option. Does anyone else has experience with them?

Thank you,
Excited Bride

They're not selling certified diamonds, so there's no idea in advance of what quality you're really getting when you're ordering from them, and they only offer a 15 day return policy. Both of those would be red flags for me, personally. And forgive me if I question that you're an actual consumer and not someone associated with the website/company looking to advertise and get testimonials. Perhaps a little more information about your situation would change our minds, because I'm sure a couple other regulars will read this the same as myself...

I'm not a big fan of layaway type deals, especially with online vendors. The problem is that the 15 day return window generally starts when you put it on layway and make the first payment but you don't actually see the goods until you make the final one. Assuming you take more than 15 days to pay it off, you are now buying an item sight unseen from a total stranger based purely on their description and with no recourse. Even the limited protection afforded by the credit card company gets difficult after a few months so you're going WAY out on a limb to do a deal like this. Add to that the fact that you obviously don't have a lot of money to spare or you wouldn't be doing layaway in the first place and we've got a setup for some serious heartache.

Lowest price doesn't always equate with best (or highest) value. One issue is the comparability that Laurie is driving at; the other is - as Neil points out - that the devil is often in the detailed T&C that superficially make an offer "attractive". I have no direct experience of the company, but given the comments from Neil and Laurie I'd be very cautious.
