Hello, first post here... What a great site! Im going to copy and paste the ad I posted in craigslist in my local area; Palm Beach County, FL.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Up for sale is a gorgeous diamond (platinum band) ring. It has 3 separate diamonds; 2.65, 1.01 and 1.01 Carats. Each one with its own glorious luster. I bought back in 2003 for my wife as an anniversary gift. It is in great condition as the pictures and the certification will tell you, and its only been worn a handful of times.

The 2.65 CT diamond has been certified by the European Gemological Laboratory and both 1.01 CTs outer diamonds have been certified by Gem Trade Laboratory. I understand the price may seem scary, but Ive handled plenty of transactions in the past. Wether it be out of town or right around the corner, I will make sure everything goes smoothly and comfortably for both parties. All I ask is for trust, as we will be giving the same.

With the government buying off a lot of the available market for diamonds, nows the time to buy. As any jeweler will tell you, a good diamond will always ONLY increase in value. The price of diamonds continues to increase even when other investments may go down. This is due in part to the steady demand for diamonds. Diamonds are the precious stone used most often in engagement rings. While the cut and size may vary there is no indication that diamonds will lose their appeal as engagement rings anytime soon.

Band: PLATINUM

All three diamonds have been accurately certified a shown in the photos.

Not to rain on anyone's parade here, but 1--the government is NOT buying up diamonds and 2--diamonds are not considered a good "investment product", per se, in that unless it is a REALLY special (read high quality/ high quality large size/high quality, high demand size/rare in some other way) then you are almost NEVER going to get anywhere close to retail sale price when reselling. It's not as big a loss as say, driving a brand new car off the lot, but it's reasonably comparable. So what you have here is a really good size, but EGL certed F SI2 is NOT a really good quality "investment".

That said, I hope you're able to generate some interest, even though it looks to me like you're trying to get an asking price above what it would cost someone to put a ring like this together brand new and with an actual Cut Grade.

You should visit the website www.fabon5th.com. Their website is very user friendly- you can submit a quote form and attach the certificates and they will be able to give you a figure for your ring. I sold an engagement ring to them that was very similar to yours- They got back to me with a quote the next day!

SO...of your 3 posts, all 3 have been recommending this reseller to buy people's jewelry. Are you affiliated with them, because I'd be surprised that someone who has experience with diamonds has had nothing else to contribute to any of the threads except to people selling. I think you'll need to be convincing, because self-promotion, while allowed, advertising is not, and this would *probably* qualify since you're not being forthcoming about it (if that's the case).
