What is important is that you like the diamond. The report is a tool to help you understand what you are buying, but it is not what you will wear and look at day in, day out.
Two points to bear in mind:
1. Ask the dealer to explain what it is that makes one diamond "good" cut, and one "excellent", and the impact this has on the diamond's looks. If you can post the GIA report numbers and precise weights we may be able to help with that (and if the dealer cannot answer convincingly, detract one point from his/her score).
2. Make sure that before you choose, you see the diamonds in a variety of lighting environments. Spotlights are very good at making any diamond look great. Look at the diamonds in the back office (with diffused, fluorescent lighting), in a place with little lighting (e.g. "evening" ambience), in the shop window (natural light) and ideally out in the street out of direct sunlight. If your preference stays the same in all these environments, then go with it.
