I have my wife's platnum engagement setting (we created an new setting and set the main stone in it) with two 3/4 carat side diamonds, that I would like to sell. Can someone tell me what's the best way (without going overboard) to sell the platnum and side diamonds. If it is a business in NYC, do you know of a reputable dealer that will give me a reasonable price?

The metal is easily sold on 47th - there's a number of metal dealers, most of them publish rates and it's a pretty competitive market anyway, so if you are only selling one ring you may be out by a couple of tens.

The side stones - that's another kettle of fish. What shape, colour and clarity are the stones, and do they have any papers?
