hello everyone,
Ye si admit i'm a 28 years old diamond virgin, i don't have any diamond or have ever bought a real diamond in my life before. but i'm in the market for an engagement diamond. I have a smyth store very close to my house, and i'm interested in bying their diamond, but at the same time feeling very unease because i don't know if what they telling is the truth or they r justin glying to my face, but so far they said that their price is non negotiable, they don't work on commission based. i understand that they have very good customer service , but i don't want to overpay by severeal thousand dollars for that sevice. so my question is, can u negotiate the price at Smyth ? and if some1 cn tell me if the price on these diamonds are good prices or overprice? 1.75K g si1 ideal cut under AGS for 16700, 1.71 g vs2 ex/ex cut under GIA for 21545? if some1 can tell me more about the different in lb report and a "fair" price to buy these diamond i would greatly appreciated. thank you

For a moment I thought Richard Branson was starting to sell diamonds
I have no idea whether you can negotiate or not at the store you mention. Some stores have a strict policy of "that's the price; if you don't like it, that's the door", others - the majority - will be willing to bargain. Their prices appear to be reasonable, assuming the diamonds they are selling are top notch in terms of quality (GIA "Excellent" covers a lot of ground, and not all SI1 are eye-clean).
Use the diamond finder to see prices of similar diamonds by a number of online retailers, and draw your own conclusions.
