I'm not disputing that. BTW CAD 2500 less HST at 13% is USD 2275, not 2000.

And I said - if you care to look above - that it's a price at which other similar stones can be found. It is not a steal, it is not a bargain. It's a fair price, and if he and his wife are happy, I am delighted for them. Honestly. And I am glad that they came over here to tell us about it. I would be even happier if they shared pictures of their diamond and/or ring - it's always nice to see jewellery.

However, since the OP has made other statements that I do not find correct, I think I have to say that too. In particular, he has made statements on this and another thread that make him look like a shill. He may not be, and is simply an enthusiastic customer (like you seem to be an enthusiastic defender of this store). My apologies if this causes offence, but since there are numerous attempts at spamming and shilling here every week, a poster that out of nowhere comes up and starts touting or defending a particular retailer as the best thing since sliced bread strikes a false note.

Finally, I also have to say that my Canadian customers do not find it so difficult to import diamonds or jewellery. Or indeed customers in pretty much any other developed country in the world.

Peace?

Here is what was said a few posts ago -
[snip]
When I type in the characteristics above into diamond finder I get 1 EGL stone for $2398. Plus, at a minimum; shipping ($50), tax (13%), brokerage ($75). He paid $2500 total - still hundreds cheaper (over 20%).

The problem is - just to point out that you perhaps don't quite know everything that people in the industry have learned in years - that you are putting in as weight exactly 0.95. Of course you then come up with only one comparable. What you want to check are stones between 0.90 and 0.99, then (if you really want to be precise) adjust for weight.

In any case, shipping is generally paid for by the shipper, diamond broker fees are not charged; customs brokerage fees (if this is what you mean) by FedEx or UPS are $15-20, not 75.

Please see the attached link to the UPS brokerage rates:
http://www.ups.com/content/ca/en/shipping/cost/zones/customs_clearance.html - $78.50 to be exact.

DiamondIdeals.com, which was mentioned in the earlier post, charges for shipping - the other companies, I can't be sure if they charge shipping to Canada, but here's the link from DiamondIdeals.com; http://www.diamondideals.com/about/our_policy.cfm#ship

$2000 + $78.50 brokerage + $50.00 shipping +13% = $2405.

I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. I JUST WENT TO UNIONDIAMOND.COM AND PUT IN THE SPECS THAT YOU SAID AND THERE IS NO 2.02 CARAT VS2, F EVEN IN THEIR INVENTORY. ACTUALLY THERE ISN'T ANYTHING BETWEEN 2.01 AND 2.04 CARAT, VS, F.

Sorry there were so many examples that were better than broadways I got the companies confused.

You called the link the corrected example "pudding"? LOL Maybe I'm sleep deprived, but something about that amuses me...
