Has anyone purchased from Diamond Ideals' website? I saw a previous posting but it was a few years ago and had no replies. They had exactly what I wanted, so just wanted to make sure that they are a good company to work with.
Thanks!

I would guess there's not a TON of folks lurking around that would have much experience with any particular e-tailer, and that your best bet would be to do a google search on that company and see if there are online reviews that give you info one way or another. If you find none, that should also be your answer right there, BUT since you said there was a thread a couple years ago with an inquiry about them and the company is still around, that is at least a small mark in their favour.
However, if you would like to show the folks here what it is that you're looking at that you liked, if you're concerned about that particular e-tailer, perhaps someone here might be able to find you the same or very similar item for close to the same price (unless it's a too-good-to-be-true deal, in which case, well, you know the rest) .

I too saw a ring on Diamond Ideals.com I liked. Did you go ahead and ourchase from them? I have found very little about them on Google which could be good or Bad.

My fiancee and I just bought a diamond and setting at diamond ideals. We actually made an appointment by email and went to the show room in person. They are extremely professional and nice. No games, no tricks. They explain to you everything you should know before buying a diamond. After we completed the order they sent us an email with picture of the diamond taken under the microscope (picture of its inclusions) and the certificate.
The contact person there is called Megan.

Do not forget to look at the coupon section on Diamond review as they have a coupon for the setting, should save you a little on the total purchase if you are putting the stone into a setting. Nice Benefit from the forum

Also. If shipped outside NY state: no taxes added!

Always be careful about this "no taxes". Vendors are prevented from charging sales tax if shipping out of state, but every state that has sales tax also charges a "use tax" which applies to goods purchased from out-of-state. You are supposed to declare them on your state (income) tax return.
The chances of getting caught by the IRS when not declaring purchases are probably pretty small, but it is technically tax evasion, and it can land you in a lot of trouble. About 5 years ago New York and New Jersey tightened down on this and started querying residents on the shipments they received.

Expect this to get worse before it gets better.

Alvina,
Is it necessary to reply to ALL old posts? It's making me start to wonder if you're a real person or a sophisticated spambot.
Before I decide whether or not to restrict your posting priviledges on the suspicion on the latter, can you please tell me what is the capital of the state of New York?
I apologise if I am embarassing you calling you out in public, but b/c of excessive spamming a while back, our private messaging system is disabled. I will delete this and the response post once my determination is made.
Thank you,
Laurie (on behalf of the moderators)
