I have a ring with 5 rocks in it.

Total weight is 6.74 Carats.
All are "round brilliant modern cut" as said by the appraisal, all are round cuts....

stone 1:
1.7 Carat, VS1 Clarity, H color

Stone 2:
1.68 Carat, VSL Clarity, F color

Stone 3:
1.68 Carat, VS1 Clarity, H color

Stone 4:
1 Carat, VS Clarity, G color

Stone 5:
.68 Carat, VS1 clarity, H color

What could I expect to sell this for, fair price to both parties, to a diamond buyer?

You will need to get a new appraisal from a qualified, independent appraiser. No one on here could accurately give you that information here, nor should they try. It's going to depend on so many factors, of which we have no information. I'd recommend going with no less than someone who is GIA certified as a Graduate Gemologist and preferably NAJA certified, if there is anyone in your area who is. You can visit their site ( http://www.najaappra..._appraiser.html ) and find out who is in your area. They do not give recommendations of who to use--just let you know who is certified in your area. BUT--under NO circumstances--should you accept an appraisal from the person/store you're looking to sell to.

I'd be curious, with the sizes of those stones being so varied, to see a picture of the ring, though :)

I agree with Laurie. I'm guessing that you're the seller and you know next to nothing about the stones or the item. The buyer knows even less than you do because they not only weren't the client, they are in direct conflict with the person who was (you I presume). ANY grading opinion or statement of value must first pass a credibility check of the person providing it. An opinion given in isolation and out of context from an unknown appraiser that's being filtered through a seller fails on 3 counts already.

If you're the buyer, hire your own appraiser no matter what the seller supplies and no matter who signed it unless you're an expert yourself, and maybe even then. There's some substantial stones being claimed and there are thousands of dollars worth of tiny details.

I think about $2000. I'll pay you $1800 in cash now, through escrow.com.

Just kidding. Follow Neil's and Laurie's advice. Get an independent professional to look at it, and be sure to tell them what you need to know (is it a resale value? in which market? under what conditions?). It is all too easy for people to get the wrong answers because they don't ask the right questions.
