If you like a modern superideal, it's a great stone. And Brian/Leslie are good with their customers. What troubles you about it (if anything)?

The table is a little small for my taste, but still within the "ideal" table percentage for that shape (55-65 is considered ideal, then it's a matter of opinion...I prefer a slightly larger table, around 62-64%), and all the rest looks fine. The price is reasonable, esp compared to other stones of the same size and comparable features, because it does have that strong blue Fluorescence--but in an H stone, that can only improve the apparent color of the stone in daylight (it'll already face-up white, but it'll now perhaps look a little brighter, if it has any impact at all). Just be aware that it means that this diamond WILL glow under black light (just in case you missed that piece of info or didn't know what it meant), so let the recipient know this before going to a night club or some such ;)

Otherwise, it looks like the diamond is good on all points, a fair price...if the vendor you're looking at has a fair return policy in case you opt to not keep the diamond for any reason, I'd say there's be nothing left to worry about :)

Good luck and congrats in advance! Come back and show it off when you've recieved it and let us see your ring :)

thanks everyone for such a quick response, i guess there wasnt any real issues with it, just worried about the stone looking blue for daily wear hahah. But for my price range and not wanting to go below vs2 and H color this is best i could do for 5-6k for 1.00 carat. so you guys think this is pretty good right?

I highly doubt that you'll notice the blue at all, except when you're in a black light situation. It's hardly discernible any other time, and certainly not as BLUE, but more as crisp white, if it's noticeable at all.

Just out of curiosity, how and why did you set your thresholds at VS2 and H?

well originally we had a budget of 5k to about 6500 wanted something between vs2 + and G color + with all ideal cut and 1 carat, but we couldnt locate anything within the price range that was reasonable and a decent diamond, we just happened to come across this one and quite liked it for the unique character it had with the flouresence. we have 24 hrs to decide so we're asking the experts (you guys)

Why not? They have a more than decent return policy, and I don't think you could find a better cut diamond if you tried... (again - subject to personal taste; I quite like high crowns and small tables, opposed to Laurie).

I can only second Laurie's request. Did you buy it loose? Or set?

Ok...well then you have to promise that you'll come back and show it off and tell us all about the proposal after you say "yes" officially! ;)

Beautiful! Congratulations :) They did a great job on that setting, btw...esp the top view is amazing! And I love the little diamonds set under the top--nice little surprise for the side view :)
