Just finished a two month research, learning, and shopping process to get my wive a 20th wedding anniv. gift.

Used this site for good info. Even bought a current copy of rapaport price guide. Found out that almost ALL mall jewelers and many others are at least 30-50% higher then good broker prices. I ended up working with Harold Stevens Jewelers on 4th st in San Diego. Owner Harold Krausner worked directly with me on three visits to walk me through about 10 stones in the 2.5 ct range.

Got down to two that that were identical visually to me but $3k difference due clarity. I took the least expensive. I got a 2.46 ct, ideal cut, G color, SI2 stone mounted in Platinum for $16k including tax. It is AGS certified

I believe I got an outstanding buy from Harold since the stone had a very fine "feather" vs. inclusion hole/crack that took it down to SI2.

My wife was totally suprised and is delighted. The stone is huge on her small finger and really radiates. Since I was such a good boy, I got a big new John Deere Lawn Tractor for my 20th anniver. gift :(

Where did you buy the Rappaport price guide? Did you have to get a full year's subscription?

Nice.

What are the table, depth, crown and pavilian numbers?
