Hi all,

Could anyone let me know if the below quotes are good deals for HOF?
.933ct G VS1 for $13,690 and a .936ct F VS1 for $14,585

I am one of HOF fans, but I've never really looked at the diamonds outside the stores, so not sure if it will look the same as under the special light effect.
My friends have been telling me to purchase on on internet (blue nile) and it's about 4 to 5K cheaper. For all the signature ideal cut, G colour and VS1, would they look the same as HOF?

Thanks,
B.D.

Hi B.D. HOF is a brand of ideal cut hearts and arrows diamonds. They have a nice product, but within this brand there will be variances in the light return. That is because not all diamonds cut to a hearts & arrows will be the same.
There are also many diamonds that are being cut to these standards today. More than one brand as well as many non branded diamonds that will rock the boat in light return. The B.N. signature listings are not a guarantee that it will have the same results as HOF or any other diamond.

The BN signature series is a competitive brand to HoF. As Bradley points out, there are variations within both lines and some stones are brighter than others but, in general, they are both usually quite lovely. HoF sells through local stores and the stores will often have added features like tradein programs, warranties, financing etc. and have the benefit of a showroom where you can go to look at it and people you can ask questions. These things are handy but they are not free and it’s up to you to decide if they’re worth the price. BNsig is available ONLY through a sight unseen purchase from Blue Nile. There are tons of competitors in this business that have other brands or generic type products that are comparable, some for prices that are lower than BN and others that are more than HoF. It all depends on what you’re looking for.

Not so amazing. Orchestrated perhaps.

We had a quite animated discussion of HOF diamonds on our Blog.

Thanks guys for sharing your knowledge. I will go check out those two diamonds at a store this weekend. I didn't not know till I read this forum that diamonds appreciate over the years... no wonder the quotes we got this time are about two thousand dollars more than a couple years ago.
