It's a beaut, but without being able to inspect and weigh it in person, none of us could even *begin* to tell you its value. I'd find yourself a trustworthy appraiser in your geographic area and have a formal appraisal made on it. That'll give you valuation AND something to submit to your insurance company--even if you keep it in a bank vault, if that sucker is the real deal, you should have it insured!

It's a gorgeous piece! Thanks so much for sharing and stay warm! :)

Lovely. Thank you for sharing this.

Does it have any marks (the French are devious - often they mark the gallery in a nearly invisible manner)? If it doesn't, it's likely to be British (platinum was not compulsorily hallmarked until 1975).

There's no way to give useful valuation advice from a photograph but it does look like a lovely piece. I second the notion that you would do well to get it appraised by a reall appraiser rather than some off the cuff opinion by a jewelry store worker or, even worse, advice from strangers on the Internet. Here's a referral of an excellent fellow in Scotland. I think he travels around quite a bit and can meet you more or less anywhere but I don't really know how his operation works.
