Hi again,

Time to find my own stone (we're 2 girls).
I have found the following, and am wondering what it's worth.

1.65
VS2
F
Triple exc
GIA
No fluor

p:40.8
c:35.5
t:56%
lower girdle : 80%
star facets: 43%

I did see the arrows in the store, so I guess the cut is pretty decent.
Was aiming to pay about $15k like the other stone, but this one costs 1k more - is it worth 16k?

What is the depth of the stone? It appears to be a good deal if it has a GIA lab report.

'Worth' is a tricky word because it must contain elements of what it's worth to whom, when and under what circumstances. If you're asking what it would be expected to cost for a stone like that from alternative vendors, it's pretty easy to check out a bunch of sellers annonymously using the 'diamond finder' utility at the top of the page. Even if you have no intention of buying from any of these people it's a useful learning exercise. Local stores are usually a little more expensive than the folks who advertise here but they are often more than happy to quote you a price if you show them a competitive offer and ask how much THEY want for something like that.

Wanted to come back to tell you I did buy it, at 15.5k and yes it does indeed have a GIA certificate.
I believe it was decent value, tax free and is beautiful under all lighting. Posted Image

As soon as I get it back from the jewelers... it wasn't quite finished last time I checked, so will have to wait a few more days.
You guys are awesome, and I am keen to share the result of your recommendations + my preferences.
