As above - has anyone bought from them? i was looking at either bluenile.co.uk or serendipitydiamonds.co.uk but have come across the above website and prices are ok plus the different options for diamonds (which is lacking in serendipity).
the ring i am looking at is a 6 claw setting classic round (.5 ct)
i don't really like the standard 6claw setting that bluenile has (but they do have a new one but it's too dear for me and will push the total price up by £500)

Do you have a Better Business Bureau (BBB) like the US does, or some equivalent organization? If so, you can inquire of them to find out if they have had any customer complaints. Additionally, you can research them online and see if there are any feedback sites (besides just this one) that have reviewed them. I know we have members all over the world, but I daresay that I'd guess the majority are in the US, and not everyone is very active, so it might be a while before you hear feedback on an overseas-only site. I hope I'm wrong, though, and you get some feedback about it--good, bad or otherwise!
You may also want to post in the main diamond section "The Rock" with information on what you're looking for in a ring and you'll likely get a lot more information and assistance there!
Congrats in advance and good luck!

i have been checking online - tho not really any reviews but i think i will go with them. they look decent enough and the choices and options for diamonds are good.
the local jewellers emailed me last night saying they can give me £200 discount which is still more expensive than a similar ring to this site and I am up for supporting locals but money is tight in my end as well so unfortunately, I might go with online unless they decide to lower their price even more from £1895 to £1500 for the similar ring
local shop is this:
http://www.berrysjew...claw/index.html
and online is this:
http://www.dejoria.c.../code-2061.html
they look the same and online is cheaper and probably better diamond (i'm going for .5ct)

Hm. Be careful. The two rings are definitely not the same - one has a square shank, the other is rounded. Apart from that, which is a purely aesthetic matter, both sites use 3D renderings which although realistic-looking are NOT the item. I have no experience at all with Dejoria, but it would not be the first time that something that looks good in the rendering ends up looking very different once it's in your hand. Make sure there are no hidden catches in their return policy.
Also, no matter how I try, I cannot get the Dejoria site to display the diamonds they have in stock (or rather, that their suppliers have in stock...) or a price for them; it seems however that the price you quote is for the setting only. The local jeweller's price includes the diamond.
Final point - I cannot comment on Dejoria's stones because I cannot even get a list; I am not keen on EGL graded stones, particularly if they are sold without you seeing them. Your local store seems to have only EGL stones.

hi - thanks. just seen your post today.
i sent the payment off today for dejoria. they have a 30day return warranty that's been extended to 9th of january. it takes 21 days, i was told so i'll hopefully expect the ring around the 8th of dec.
i shall let you know when i get it. tho i wouldn't know a thing about rings so i guess if it's sparkly and shiny - i'll be happy (i think)
should i have the ring evaluated or appraised when i get it? it says it comes with egl certificate and an independent valuation certificate.
i'll post a pic when i get it.

Whether or not you want expert assistance in deciding to keep it is entirely up to you but I point out that a document contracted for and provided by the seller is NOT 'independent', regardless of who produced it. The fact that they're calling it that is a red flag all by itself, and if it contains information that you know is contrary to fact (like that it's 'worth' substantially more than they are charging) you've got another. Be very careful if you choose to rely on this document. Sometimes 'free' reports are far more expensive than you think. The same holds true with EGL documents. They routinely conceal more than they reveal and there's a reason that the seller is asking you to rely on them instead of an expert of YOUR choosing. Much of the value of an independent appraisal is presicely that it provides a second opinion on some important details both about the stone and the marketplace. It's not a second opinion if it comes from the same source as the first.

Thanks Neil..
I'll see if i can find a local that can appraise the ring when i get it.
appraise? / valuate? = are they the same thing?
but i'm sure i'll like it. when i went to a local jeweller last week and was shown a .5 carat in a G and S1 or something low.. i was still very impressed and i couldn't even look down straight at it as it was sparkling too much that it was nearly blinding (i've never looked at real diamonds before - i've never had to i guess)
