Hi,

I am interested in buying an engagement ring. I've visited 77diamonds website and i liked very much this one. Also, I've chosen a ring from thier website, which I liked.

I am not an expert in diamonds, but i've read a lot about diamonds (4c and so on), but still I really do not know if such a piece worths the money. I'll give some details about the diamond below. Any information from your side is highly appreciated.

Weight 0.45
Colour F
Clarity IF
Additional Grading Information: Measurements4.90-4.94x3.05mm
Depth 62.0% Table56.0%
Polish Excellent; Symmetry Excellent; Fluorescence None; Culet None
Grading Analysis: Ratio 0.99; Cut Excellent
Diamond Price: €1,197.09

Kind regards,
IFAD007

Hello, IFAD007, welcome! I'm sorry, but rather than answering your question I'll ask you some...

Which lab has graded the stone? What do they (or the seller) mean with "grading analysis: ratio 0.99"? Who is making the choice of going for such a high colour and clarity? Is that your decision, after looking at a number of other options, or is the seller pushing you towards it because "that's the best stone they have"?

Finally, you may want to use the "Diamond Finder" tool at the top of this page to find similar stones and compare prices; just make sure you are comparing like-for-like also in terms of grading lab. And since you seem to be in Europe, bear in mind that prices in the US are lower, but you need to compare net of VAT, since retail prices in the US are generally net of tax, and you would be charged at least VAT on import.

ETA - just realised this should probably be on "The Rock" forum. Asked mods to move the thread.
