Ok, I am new here, but I have finally narrowed my choice of stone down to two. I have decided upon the Solasfera diamond due to its' increased shine and sparkle (pretty technical, i know!) but I need help between two of them. Diamond A is .7, E color, SI1, for $4,005 and Diamond B is .77 G color, SI1, for $3,850. Any suggestions? They are both GIA certified. Thanks in advance for any help given. I truly appreciate it.
Please Help!!

1. Have you actually seen a Solasfera, and compared it to a truly well cut traditional diamond? Have you considered that you are paying a premium of about 20-25% for the Solasfera cut?
2. If you have, have you seen the two diamonds you are considering? Which one do you prefer?
At this point, assuming you truly have narrowed it down to those two, and only those two, it comes down to personal preference.

I have seen them in person, but more importantly my g/f has seen them in person and LOVES them. So that settled that. Prepared or not, that is what I'll be doing! LOL I have not seen them in person, as I am buying through an online broker, who has been amazing by the way. They are both round cut, and I chose a Neil Lane setting, so it should look pretty nice. I guess what I was asking, is that in that cut, do I go for the extra .07 in size, or the upgrade from G to E color.
Another annoying thing is, is that Solasfera seems to be tight lipped about their stock and prices, so it is hard to compare hundreds of diamonds. My broker has given me several choices, and from those I narrowed it down.

Ask them for photographs of the diamonds side by side and to take some photos of the stones under the microscope for you. Sometimes SI1's are not eye clean from all sides. If they are an online Solasfera dealer I'm sure they can provide you more info on the stones so you can make a more educated choice. For the extra 20-25% premium on the diamond, they should be willing to work for your dollars. Do they have an upgrade policy in the future?
I know that there are some diamonds that actually perform as high as the Solasfera diamonds that are unbranded as well. She could probably get a larger diamond for the money.

Hello tlandmeier!
I know that a hundred and fifty five dollars won't bother you, but I think, Diamond B is much better, .77 G color as I hope it's eye clean too. Why? Well, for me,color upgrade is tricky, Color E could be somewhere in between color D&F. And I think, color G could be your advantage with this Solasfera cut diamond & a gorgeous setting combo.

In the end you should buy the diamond that she absolutely loves. Not based on dollars when you are only looking at a $150 difference. Each diamond has its own characteristics. As you know, there are no alike diamonds in the world. Even if you have two identical .70 ct round diamonds G, SI1 each has different factors such as polish, grain structure, symmetry and cut. I personally have seen .90 ct round diamonds out shine full carats with better color and clarity. A higher quality color and clarity simply raises the value of a diamond as it becomes more rare the more 'perfect' or 'ideal' it is. Hope that helps.
