Hi All,

I am deciding whether this ring with a SI2 clarity is a good purchase. I can definitely see the inclusions under the microscope but not sure if it will be seen by the naked eye. HELP!!

Here is a picture of the ring:

Any feedback will be much appreciated!

There is no way anyone can answer without seeing the diamond. Bear in mind that the virtual loupe is roughly 30x, and even the starting photo is only a little less than 10x (on my 15.4" screen). This level of magnification is not at all representative of what you will see in real life, also considering that the photo is not reflective!

Ask the people at James Allen; they are the only ones who have seen the diamond. Be very specific about what you want to set as your criteria for eye-cleanness: in what lighting, at what distance, from what observation angle.

Another tactic is to agree with them that you will look at the diamond first, under their 30-days return policy, and then ship it back to them for setting or return. This is only going to cost you a week or so of time for shipping back and forth, and $50 for the return shipping.

It looks to me like you may be able to see the inclusion at the 6.30 position with the naked eye. It is quite large. You may want to go to a really good SI1 or even VS2 to keep it eye clean. Most people think that eye clean is eye clean from all sides, while it is important to remember that alot of the vendors consider eye clean from top view only. SI2's especially in a 2.00 ct. size is usually not eye clean from all sides.
