I first wanted to say thanks to everyone on the forum. Although I only asked 1 question earlier, I have been reading for a very long time. I have pretty much narrowed down the diamonds I am looking at to 3 and I have included rough estimate on prices for them. PLus what I like dislike about them. See if you can help em decide, thanks everyone!

Diamond 1

This was the first one I asked about when I was concerned with feathering. The price is right at about 26200 but the issue I had with it was when I saw it the two crystals in the center of the table were just too obvious. One look at it witha loop and they were boom, staring me right in the face. I found that annoying and I do not know if I can get over that but 2000 is a lot to pay for the next diamond.

Diamond 2

Numbers look great. Price is about 28200. I really like that it is laser inscribed. The inclusion on the table near the facet can be seen with a loop and is black but its near the facet so its much tougher to see. Much Much tougher. However, I can still see it. I read the H&A inscription doesnt mean much but its there also.

Diamond 3

I have not yet seen this diamond but it looks really clean via the GIA. It does look like a lot of feathers. If I get this one I may not be able to see the diamond beforehand though. I like that it is laser inscribed. the price is more on this one about 28900.

So basically if I go up from the first one it will be because I am willing to spend more on something that I cant see, just that I know the first one the inclusion is so obvious. Thanks for all of your help everyone!

Ditch the first one. You don’t like it because of the inclusions and you'll always be feeling like you've compromised. The only reason you're considering it is because it's a few % cheaper. To me, that's not enough. If you’re spending this kind of coin, you should be getting something that rocks your boat (and hopefully hers as well)

Girdle inscription service is cheap. If you want it, ask the dealer, jeweler or your appraiser about it after you pick the stone and before you set it. I’m sure at least one of them can get it done for you if you ask.

Order in both to an appraiser nearby or even not so nearby and go and look at them side by side and in person. Pick one, return the other.

Neil said it all. I'll just add a comment/personal opinion.

The eyes have it - always - but if I were to place a bet I'd place it on #2. Just a hunch (and a less steep crown/smaller table, which I like, but that's personal taste).

Thanks guys! I think I am going to go with the 2nd one, I just like the look of the smaller table better and the although I can see the crystal with the loop its not blatantly obvious. Was looking online and price seems decent, any opinions on that?

Price-wise, it's sensible (as in within range). Whether it's a relative bargain (if you can call something at nearly 30k a bargain) or a relative rip-off, depends on too many things that one cannot assess without seeing the stone in person.
