I opted to buy the stone separately from the setting.
I looked at both James Allen and Blue Nile, Both companies were easy to work with and very professional. I ended up buying from JA as they had what i was looking for in my price range whereas BN didnt (by the time I had the $)

I went to my local B+M jewelers and Helzberg was the best, in both customer service as well as friendly knowledgeable staff... I shopped around and really was treated poorly at several shops... One in particular was especially rude when I told them I had ordered the diamond and they we not getting the sale from me, very shifty was like buying a used car
So I opted with a Tulip/Cathedrial 4 prong setting. I also got the lifetime service plan just to cover re plating and re-sizing etc... worth it? I dont know, it was to me for the piece of mind...
