I am looking to purchase a 1.30 carat to 1.50 carat AGS 000 or GIA XXX stone, G in color, SI1 in clarity, what is the appropriate price range for 1.30 carat vs a 1.50 carat with these characteristics?
I was quoted $9,699 for a 1.31 carat AGS 000 H, SI1, with no fluorescence. I was informed by an AGS certified jeweler that I should be paying $7,200-7,550 for that stone?
Would you guys agree?
Thanks.

Hmm. What you should pay is a curious question. There's an AGS0 advertised in the database here for $6341 (top of the page under 'find online jeweler'). That does seem to be on the low side but $6500- $7000 has more than a dozen offers of GIA-xxx/1.31/H/SI1. Local stores tend to be a little more expensive and offer up a better overall presentation and it's up to you to decide what their extra service is worth it but $3000 seems fairly steep.
