I am interested in buying a ring from 1910, round, platinum, I, VS2. I am purchasing from a personal shopper she advised me the ring cannot be GIA appriased because the diamond cannot br removed from the setting. So if the ring cannot be appraised and does not come with papers how do I know if it's authentic?

Personally, I wouldn't buy a diamond unless it was backed up with a GIA or AGS lab report. But it is your money, if you want to gamble with it, it is up to you.
