I searched the forum but couldn't find anything on this.

I inherited my mother's diamond ring. I don't know what the size or cut of the diamond is but I do know the size of the ring is 5. My future fiance ring finger is 6.5 - 6.75. Is it possible to resize this ring that I have or is that too big of a jump? If this is not possible how much normally would it cost in Ohio to remove the diamond to install in another ring?

Thanks.

It depends on the design of the ring.. Solitaires can go up or down pretty much as far as you want.. A pave covered or eternity ring, not so much.. 1 1/2 sizes for most rings is not really a problem..

Would it help if I took a picture of the ring and posted it? Thanks for the info.

Going up to a size 6.5-6.75 should not be an issue with this style of diamond ring. The exact price will depend on the grade of metal in your ring (ie. 14k white gold, platinum, etc.)
