Does anyone here know approximately what percentage of profit or markup most loose stones dealers are using? In other words on a 1.5 Emerald cut, G, VS1 if the dealer is asking ( for example) $9000, about how much did he pay for the stone. How much wiggle room do I have? Is there a general percentage most dealers are operating on? Thanks.

The internet has varying markups but the most competitive prices. I see markups from 3%-12% on there. You have to search and find the best deal. Hint ( don't try to dicker the guy with the 3% markup.)
