I'm interested in a diamond described as an "old European cut." I've seen the diamond, know the clarity, color to be of middle and high middle range, respectively. It's .42 carats and seems to glow nicely. I'm interested, however, in more specifics about the cut. The jeweler said that it's not a typical cut anymore because it requires losing more of the diamond weight. Is this so, how many facets will it have versus an normal round, brillian cut? I like the diamond, but want to know more so I can figure price better.
Thanks,
