What would be the best way to resize a brand new platinium engagement ring a quarter size smaller?

To size a platinum ring smaller, or any ring for that matter, you need to cut and remove some metal.. This really isn't that hard of a task, even in platinum if the jeweler is comfortable working in platinum..
To do it 'right' it needs to be cut..
You can also have a ring guard added to the ring, or I have seen a few places solder a small flat strip to the inside bottom of the ring..
