Would the value of14 baguette cut diamonds, approximate weight 2.40 caret, VVS/2-VS 1 clarity and G/H color (4.2dwt) be equivilent in value to Total Weight of 1.70 carats (average color clarity H/SI1?? Please let me know. My email address is fay.hoffman@citigroup.com

No way to tell with the info you provided. Baguettes are usually "leftovers", so they are not worth much to begin with.
