I am thinking of purchasing an engagement ring that has bagallon diamonds in the channel lock. I have never heard of this type of diamond, however was told they are rare. I'm not sure if I spelled bagallon correctly? Is this a rare type of diamond? What is the quality of this diamond?

Bagillion may be what you are referring to.. These are simply baguette diamonds that are faceted instead of step cut.. They will look more like princess cuts that what you normally see in a baguette that is step cut..
I can't speak as to how rare they may or may not be, but one of the guys ehre that specializes in diamonds most certainly can.. My guess is that they are just another cut of diamond and are less common, but by no means "rare"..
