Hello,
My husband and I are interested in an antique cushion cut that is J color with no flourecence and SI1 clarity. The GIA cert. shows "good"symmetry and polish. The girdle is thick to extremely thick. The culet is medium The depth is 61% and the table is 51%.
I love the soft look of an antique but my husband is concerned with value. The old stones are priced high and do not hold their value the same as todays modern rounds. Do you have any input in regards to this dilemma? Does this stone sound like one of decent enough quality or should we go for less size and better color and clarity? (Is it bad for a J colored stone NOT to have any flourecence?)

Most of the questions you had were personal decisions for taste.
You have to decide what type of stone really sings to you.
I would mention the extremely thick girlde is probably hiding some extra weight in the stone.
