I'm looking at 2 rings.. identical models just different size/ color.
both are 3 round stones with 6 other little stones bezel set into the setting base. (facing outward.) 14K gold prong setting.
The larger ring is 3 ctw total / .86 center stone/ K-L color/ VS1 clarity.
The other rind is 2 ctw total/ .75 center stone / J color / SI-1 clarity. (but very nice SI-1)
Prices are 6300 & 5500.
Both are great looking rings tho I can yellow tint to the larger one.
Which would you go for ?

Everyone has different tolerances and comfort levels for color. If you have seen both rings, then I think you should go with the one that you are most comfortable with.

Is the ring 14k white gold or yellow gold? You might want to compare the color grades in different settings if possible as it can sometimes make a difference in the overall appearance and color. Meaning, yellow gold sometimes compliments lower color grades better. If the store has a K-L in a white gold setting and another K-L in a yellow gold setting then you might be able to compare.

Also, are these stones graded by laboratory? If so which one? EGL or IGI's color grading system isn't always the same as GIA or AGS.

Thanks.. I was able to get the same ring in a 2 ctw. / VVS2-VS1/ J-K so I went with that one. It just looked brighter. It was rated by IGL so I'm going to have it appraised just to be sure tho I've read they rate by the same standards as IGA etc.
